This policy explains what walieldin.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only.
The site is operated by Walieldin Taher, a performance marketing consultant based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For anything in this policy, contact walieldintaher@gmail.com.
The short version
- The site has no accounts, no shopping cart, and no contact form. Nothing is collected from you unless you visit a page or choose to contact me.
- Analytics and session recording only run if you accept them in the cookie banner. Decline, and they stay off.
- Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
What is collected, and why
1. Website analytics — only with your consent
If you accept analytics, the site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-0KFMVBH5W0), loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used.
Collected: pages viewed, approximate location (country/city level, from your IP address, which Google does not make available to me), device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and specific actions — clicking a WhatsApp, email or LinkedIn link, opening an FAQ question, and which sections of a page you reach.
Why: to see which content brings people in and whether the site actually prompts anyone to get in touch. Legitimate interest in running and improving the site, acted on only after you consent.
Google acts as a data processor and may process data outside Saudi Arabia and the EU/UK. See Google’s privacy policy.
2. Session recording and heatmaps — only with your consent
If you accept analytics, the site uses Microsoft Clarity (project ykzepkdgqj), which records how visitors move through pages: mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and taps, plus aggregate heatmaps.
Clarity automatically masks text input. The site has no forms or login, so there is nothing for you to type here in the first place.
Why: to find where the page confuses people or fails on a phone. See Microsoft’s privacy statement.
3. Your cookie choice
When you accept or decline in the banner, that choice is stored in your browser so you aren’t asked on every page. This is stored regardless of what you choose, because it is the record of your decision. You can change it at any time through the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
4. Contacting me
WhatsApp: the buttons on this site open a chat with +966 54 276 3316. The conversation happens in WhatsApp, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy, not mine. Your phone number and messages are visible to me. I keep conversations with genuine enquiries for as long as we are in contact and for up to 24 months afterwards, so I have a record of what was discussed.
Email: mail sent to walieldintaher@gmail.com is held in Gmail, under Google’s privacy policy. Same retention.
I use what you send me to reply and to discuss potential work. Nothing more. You are not added to a mailing list.
5. Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running. This happens for every visitor and does not depend on your cookie choice, because a web server cannot serve a page without it. See Hostinger’s privacy policy.
What is not collected
- No advertising or remarketing pixels. No Meta, TikTok, Snapchat or Google Ads tags.
- Nothing sold or shared with data brokers.
- No accounts, passwords or payment details — none are handled anywhere on this site.
- No special-category data, and nothing knowingly collected from children.
Cookies and similar technologies
| Purpose | Set by | When | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remembering your cookie choice | This site | Always, once you choose | 6 months |
| Analytics (visits and events) | Google Analytics 4 | Only after you accept | Up to 2 years |
| Session recording and heatmaps | Microsoft Clarity | Only after you accept | Up to 1 year |
Until you accept, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics and advertising storage denied, so these tools cannot write cookies or identify you.
Your rights
Under Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and under the GDPR/UK GDPR if you are in the EU or UK, you can ask to: see what data is held about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, receive a copy in portable form, and withdraw consent at any time.
Withdrawing consent is immediate and needs no email: use the Cookie preferences link in the footer and decline. For anything else, email walieldintaher@gmail.com. I will reply within 30 days.
If you think your data has been mishandled, you can complain to the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), or to your national data protection authority in the EU or UK.
Legal bases (EU/UK visitors)
- Consent — analytics and session recording.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure and available (server logs), and replying to enquiries you start.
International transfers
Google, Microsoft and Hostinger process data on servers outside Saudi Arabia, including in the EU and the United States, under their own transfer safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes
Any material change will be reflected in the “last updated” date above. If the change affects what is collected or why, the cookie banner will ask you again.
